Kajukenbo Instructors

At Embrun Family Karate Club, our classes are led by instructors who are more than just skilled martial artists—they’re dedicated mentors and inspiring leaders. Each class is thoughtfully designed to blend traditional techniques, modern training methods, and a strong sense of community. With decades of combined experience across multiple disciplines, our instructors bring energy, discipline, and encouragement to every session, helping students of all ages and skill levels grow in confidence, strength, and character.

Professor John Lianos, 8th Degree

Professor John Lianos is the founder of Embrun Family Karate Club, established in 1999. With a martial arts journey that began in 1972, he brings over five decades of experience and dedication to the dojo. In recognition of his lifelong commitment and expertise, he was awarded the prestigious rank of Professor in 2022.

His training spans multiple disciplines, including Kajukenbo, Chuan’fa, Kempo, Shuri-Ryu, and Jiu-Jitsu, making him a well-rounded and respected leader in the martial arts community.

Sibak Philippe Beauchamp, 2nd Degree

Sibak Philippe Beauchamp has been immersed in martial arts since 1980, bringing over four decades of experience to the Embrun Family Karate Club. He became a valued member of the club in 1999 and earned his black belt in 2014.

In addition to his rank in Kajukenbo, he holds a black belt in Shito-Ryu and a blue belt in Shotokan, showcasing his diverse training and deep commitment to martial arts excellence.

Sibak Sidney MacNeill, 2nd Degree

Sibak Sidney MacNeill began her martial arts journey at Embrun Family Karate Club in 2010. She earned her Junior Black Belt in 2016 and achieved her full Black Belt in 2024.

A fierce competitor and dedicated martial artist, Sidney has claimed multiple titles at the WKC Nationals and is an eight-time WKC World Champion. Her passion, discipline, and competitive spirit make her an inspiring leader both in and out of the dojo.

Sibak Daniel Gauthier, 2nd Degree

Sibak Daniel Gauthier has been a dedicated member of Embrun Family Karate Club since 2005. After years of consistent training and commitment, he earned his black belt in 2023.

His journey reflects the values of perseverance and discipline that define our club, and he continues to inspire students through his quiet leadership and passion for martial arts.

Sisuk Naomi Brake, 1st Degree

Sisuk Naomi Brake has been a dedicated member of Embrun Family Karate Club since 2011. She earned her black belt in 2021, marking a significant milestone in her martial arts journey.

Naomi is a decorated competitor, having won multiple titles at the WKC Nationals and earning the distinction of WKC World Champion. Her focus, determination, and leadership make her a valued part of our instructor team.

Jr Sisuk Eben Andresen, 1st degree

Jr Sisuk Eben Andresen joined Embrun Family Karate Club in 2016 and earned his black belt in 2024. A dedicated martial artist and rising competitor, Eben has secured multiple titles at the WKC Nationals and successfully qualified for the WKC World Championships.

His focus, energy, and commitment to excellence make him a strong role model for younger students and a valued member of our instructor team.

History of Kajukenbo

Kajukenbo is a dynamic hybrid martial art that combines the strengths of Karate, Judo, Jiu-Jitsu, Kenpo, and Chinese Boxing (Kung Fu).  Developed in 1947 at the Palama Settlement in Oahu, Hawaii, Kajukenbo was created by five martial arts Grandmasters who united their disciplines to form a practical and effective self-defense system.
